CBD drinks are so hot right now.
I’m not mad about it.
CBD is a great way to unwind and quieten your mind and feel good without any of the side effects. It’s like smoking the devil's lettuce without that THC high that makes you devour an entire pack of Oreos, or questioning whether that van parked outside your house is an MI6 surveillance van, or just your local tradesman. These drinks can ease anxiety, improve sleep and relieve aches and pains.
CBD drinks are part of the ‘health hedonism’ trend that we’ve seen gaining traction in the wellness industry. Nutrition experts have long advised moderation, but it's only in recent years that we’ve seen balance becoming trendy. The endless yo-yo-ing between starvation and pure indulgence creates an unhealthy relationship.
This is a great thing and a big leap forward in the wellness world. Health hedonism is doing things you enjoy, in a way that is good for you, to have the most fulfilling and balanced life possible.
Nowadays, it seems like every health expert is advising balance.
Consuming cannabis is something that a huge part of the global population enjoys and partakes in their free time. By isolating CBD for consumption via beverages, food or supplements, we’re harnessing the best bits of sweet mary jane herself. It's what you love doing, but for your health.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan. Unplugging after a long day of work by sipping on some CBD sounds like a good time to me. But if we’re so desperate for balance in our lives, there needs to be a limit to how much chill we’re consuming,
Are we placing too much importance on achieving calm, when we should be aiming for a balance?
The ability to chill is really important, but as I said earlier, wellness is all about getting balance. For every chill-inducing bev, there must be an equal and opposite invigorating drink (that’s us by the way).
Using CBD products is a great way to begin infusing your life with balance. But before you place all your wellness eggs in the CBD basket remember that productivity and elevating your senses are just as necessary.
There’s a time and place for unwinding, but when it's time to Rise, Peak is your fuel.
